We all face problems in our lives. Financial hardships, sickness, and family issues are just a few common challenges. Have you ever dealt with any of these issues? How did you get through it?
For one young girl in rural Ghana, the unlikely answer to her problem was when she received a goat! Bikamal was given a goat through Call of Hope to help pay for her school fees She faithfully raised and nurtured her goat, and she prayed earnestly that it would soon produce offspring. God answered her prayers and not one, but many more goats were born! “My goat gave birth so many times that I was able to buy a cow which also starting giving birth” she recalls.
Bikamal was able to pay for her schooling through junior high and all of high school, but it didn’t stop there! The simple gift of one goat was able to bless her entire family. Her two younger brothers were able to pay their school fees, books, and other necessities. When Bikamal’s mother became very ill, she was rushed to the hospital in Tamale. As she recovered on her hospital bed, it was the sale of her daughter’s goats that provided the money for medicine and hospital bills.
Now a senior in high school, Bikamal is praising the Lord that she now owns six goats that are continuing to produce offspring and are providing a future for her family. “I thank God, and I want to thank Call of Hope for the gift of my goat, it has really changed my life and the lives of my entire family. Indeed, my goat did it all!” she rejoiced.
The gift of just one goat through the Goat Project can really have a tremendous impact on a child and a family in Africa! Please pray for Bikamal and her family. Pray also for the countless other children who are still waiting to receive a goat so that they can continue their education just like Bikamal.
